Happy New Year, friends! I feel like I say this with every monthly favorites, but December FLEW by. I can’t believe it’s 2018! I’m so excited for this coming year. I really feel it in my gut that 2018 is going to be MY YEAR! My year of growing, exploring, and flourishing. Not to say I didn’t do all of those things in 2017, I just finally feel good going into the new year. This last year was a big learning lesson for me. I learned a lot about myself and a lot about what and who I need in my life to be happy and healthy. That is why I know 2018 is going to be an EXTRAORDINARY year for me and hopefully you too.
With all that being said, here are my favorite things of December!
Name Plate Necklace
If you didn’t know, my full name is Morgan, but most of my family and friends call me Mo. For a while, I have wanted a nameplate necklace like Carrie has from the Sex and The City, but in silver, because I’m a winter *hair flip*. So for Christmas/Graduation, my mom got a custom one made for me! I love it sooooo much, I literally haven’t taken it off since she gave it to me in the middle of December. If you’re reading this Mom, thank you so much. <3
Yes to Coconuts Face Wash
Every once in a while, I like to try new products and though this product isn’t new in stores, it’s new to me. In the winter, my skin gets super dry and it’s painful. This has helped my skin a lot! The product itself is really creamy and light, but it really moisturizes your skin. If you have acne, I don’t know if this product would be for you, I am blessed with good genetics, eat pretty well, and drink lots of water so I rarely get acne. If you have combo/dry skin like me, you might like this product!
Apple Air Pods
This was another Christmas gift and I’m so grateful I got them! Ignore me while I sound like a nerd for a few minutes but THESE ARE SO COOL! They instantly connect to your phone when you open the charging case, and if you double tap on one of the earbuds it activates Siri. There’s so much more they can do but I’m still trying to get the hang of using them.
Shea Moisture Lip Balm
I bought this lip balm on a whim because it had the word VEGAN on it and I like to try new products every once in a while. Let me just say, I am SO glad I got it. It’s like Aquaphor but better because it’s vegan, cruelty-free, and smells amazing.
Essential Oil Diffuser
I have been wanting an essential oil diffuser forever and this Christmas I finally got one! Ever since I received it on Christmas, I have been diffusing like crazy. The one I got has a light and a timer built in so if I fall asleep with it on, it turns off in X amount of hours. My favorite combo for sleep is 2 drops of rosemary, 3-4 drops of lavender, 1-2 drops of eucalyptus, and 1-2 drops of peppermint. It smells like Vicks but more relaxing.
Vegan Sugar Cookies
If you follow me on Instagram, @mo_huntley, you probably saw these already. I have been looking for a good sugar cookie recipe forever and I FINALLY found one! The cookies are chewy, but they still stay together, and the recipe is so simple! I think in the span of two weeks I made 4 batches and each batch makes about 20-24 cookies…. Yeah.. I went a little cookie crazy. They are really that good though! Try it for yourself!
Reputation by Taylor Swift
I used to be a big fan of T-Swift back in the day, before Red, and recently I have been listening to her newest album, Reputation, all the time. I don’t understand why this album is getting so much hate online and people are saying it doesn’t compare to her other albums. I think it’s just as good, if not better than her previous albums, and I’m not a #Swiftie. My favorite songs are This is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things, Delicate, Call It What You Want, and Don’t Blame Me. Very catchy, very good.
Winter Blues Playlist
Every winter, I get really sad and bitter. I hate snow, the cold, and how grey the sky is during the winter months, it makes me miserable. To combat that, I make a happy playlist to pump me up and make me feel warm inside! I know it sounds a bit silly, but music really does help seasonal depression and sadness. If you’re in the need of a pick me up or just want to hear some good tunes, check out my playlist!
Thanks so much for reading, I really hope you enjoyed this post!
